As of April 3, 2020 Opear is excited to offer telemedicine to New York patients! So what does this mean?
Your membership stays the same, you just have more options! When you search for a provider, you’ll now see a checkbox allowing you to consent to video appointments.
Telehealth is perfect for minor issues like rashes or chicken pox, and as a way to better adhere to social distancing protocol. If you or your child are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms consistent with COVID-19, a virtual appointment is also a useful option to get an informed opinion before making a trip to a testing facility.
While a house call runs $150 in New York, we are able to offer video appointment at a reduced rate of $75.
Due to emergency regulations and our new telehealth capabilities, Opear is now able to employ doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants located anywhere in the United States.
If you are a New York-based provider, you have the option to conduct house calls, virtual appointments, or both.
If you are located anywhere else in the U.S., you will be able to conduct video calls only, as we currently only serve patients in New York State.
In case you missed it, Opear has waived our membership fees for both patients and providers to help slow the spread of COVID-19. There’s no better time to get started, so download Opear for iPhone or Android today.
**Physician Assistants are responsible for identifying their own supervising physician.
